Our client is an established, nationally recognized provider of services to adults with support needs due to developmental disabilities, behavioral health issues, and substance abuse. With over 100 locations throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware, this company has been dedicated to helping people with mental illness, drug and alcohol addictions, developmental/intellectual disabilities, and homelessness to stabilize their lives and to help them live as independently as possible in the community.
Responsibilities:

In the delivery of treatment, rehabilitation and support services, the Mental Health Specialist provides supervision in assessment and treatment planning, and provides support and back-up to the Team Leader.

Provide individual supportive therapy (e.g., problem solving, role-playing, modeling and support), social skill development, and assertiveness training to increase participants’ social and interpersonal activities in community settings.

Provide service coordination (case management for an assigned group of participants) including:

Coordinating and monitoring the activities of the individual treatment team
-
Assume responsibility for developing, writing, implementing, evaluating and revising overall treatment plans in collaboration with the participant and the internal treatment team

Provide individual supportive therapy, psychotherapy, and symptom management, ensuring immediate changes are made in the treatment plans as participants’ needs change

Educate and support participants’ families, and advocate for participants’ rights and preferences.

Conduct comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history:
-
Onset, course an effect of illness, past treatment and responses, and risk behaviors), mental status, and diagnosis

Physical health and dental health

Use of drugs or alcohol

Education and employment
-
Social development and functioning
-
Activities of daily living (e.g., care-care, living situation, nutrition, money management)

Family structure and relationships

Provide individual supportive therapy (e.g., problem solving, role-playing, modeling and support), social skill development, and assertiveness training to increase participants’ social and interpersonal activities in community settings.

Perform shift management in coordination with other shift managers according to established policies and procedures.
Requirements:
-
M.A. degree in Human Services/Social Sciences, Healthcare or related field and Post-secondary school training is required, including internships and other supervised practical experiences in a clinical or rehabilitation setting with persons with severe and persistent mental illness.

Experience with individuals who have severe and persistent mental illness, providing guidance so they can live in community residences; work in market jobs; and have access to helpful, adequate, competent, and continuous supports and services.

Ability to establish supportive trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses and respect for participant rights and personal preference in treatment are essential.

Must posses a valid driver’s license.

Must have reliable transportation.

Must be able to work 1 scheduled late shift per week (12-8pm) and 1 scheduled weekend shift per month.
Compensation Package:

$48,000 – $56,000 per year
