Pay Rate: $21.00 – $23.00 per hour 
Location: Onsite – Fairhaven Mass (New Bedford Area)
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Schedule: Full-time, Tuesday to Saturday (2nd Shift: 3PM – 11PM or 2PM to 10PM)

Our client is looking for a compassionate healthcare provider to join their dedicated team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges. This contract-to-hire position offers the opportunity to provide hands-on personal care, support therapeutic interventions, and engage in a collaborative treatment environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with grooming, showering, dressing, and other personal care activities.
  • Conduct medical monitoring activities under the direction of the RN.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Support clients with daily living activities, including meal assistance, mobility, and medication administration as per the treatment plan.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with agency policies and regulations.
  • Foster therapeutic rapport and provide advocacy and skill-building support to clients.
  • Participate in developing and implementing Individual Action Plans (IAP) for client recovery.
  • Maintain a recovery-oriented environment and assist in transportation planning as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant Certification and License.
  • At least one year of experience providing direct care to clients, preferably in mental health settings.
  • Preference for multilingual candidates to meet the cultural needs of the population served.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), specifically NetSmart and Avatar, is preferred.
  • Medication Administration Certification (MAT) is a plus; training available if not currently certified.

  • Understanding of mental health challenges and effective communication strategies.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to sit (35-40%), stand (50%), and lift up to 40-50 lbs.
  • Capacity to assess situations quickly and solve problems independently.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients and team members effectively.
