Direct Support Professionals Needed for a Behavioral Health Organization in Malvern, PA or West Chester, PA

Job ID: 24195
Pay Rate: $17.50/HR – $22.80/HR +Sign-on Bonus
Location: On-site in Malvern or West Chester Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Full Time, 1st and 2nd Shift Available

  • Must Work Every Other Saturday / Sunday
  • Off 1 Consistent Weekday Each Week
  • West Chester 2nd Shift Only

A behavioral healthcare organization with a unique approach to changing lives is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join as Direct Support Professionals (DSP). The position involves working with children, adolescents, and young adults who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, and cognitive challenges. Individuals in these roles will support clients with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), as well as behavioral and psychiatric disorders.

What Your Day Looks Like:

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities (IDD) and/or behavioral health (BH) needs in a residential or community-based setting.
  • Assist clients in developing life skills, including but not limited to, cooking, cleaning, communication, conflict resolution, and social skills.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of clients in a structured, home-like environment.
  • Encourage positive behavior and emotional growth through therapeutic and behavioral interventions.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans.
  • Support the emotional and social development of clients, fostering resilience and independence.
  • Document client progress, incidents, and any other relevant information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provide crisis intervention and manage challenging behaviors in a safe and constructive manner.
  • Assist with daily living tasks and personal care as needed.
  • Other Duties as Assigned

What You Bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and must be age 21+.
  • Experience in the behavioral health or developmental disabilities field is highly preferred, though not required.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors and de-escalate crises using positive behavioral support techniques.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols and the ability to respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and ethical practices related to client care.
  • Compassion, patience, and a commitment to helping individuals achieve their fullest potential.
