Medical Secretary Needed for a Primary Care/Family Healthcare Office

Pay Rate: $19.00/HR – $21.00/HR
Location: Onsite in Wayland, MA
Employment Type: Contract

Schedule: Day Shift, 8am Start, 32 Hours/Week

A busy Primary Care/Family Medicine Practice is seeking a skilled Medical Secretary/Practice Assistant to join our team on a contract basis. This is a dynamic role requiring strong administrative skills and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
 
What Your Day Looks Like:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, colleagues, and external partners through effective communication and empathy.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage calendar systems.
  • Verify patient insurance and handle prior authorizations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive patient information.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Support vaccine-related tasks, including COVID-19 vaccines/boosters and flu vaccines.
  • Foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for patients by providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth office experience.

What You Bring:

  • Local candidates only (must reside within 25 miles of Wayland, MA).
  • Must not have worked (permanent or travel) for any Beth Israel facility within the past year.
  • Vaccination Requirement:
    • COVID-19 vaccine and booster required at submission.
    • 2024–2025 flu vaccine required prior to start. (If not current, an attestation to receive the flu vaccine before the start date is acceptable.)
    • Declinations for vaccines will not be accepted.
  • Familiarity with prior authorizations, scheduling, and insurance processes preferred.
