Pay Rate: $29.00/HR – $42.64/HR
Work Setting: Onsite in Renton, WA
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Schedule: 4 Days, 10 Hours/Day
A healthcare clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a dedicated team, focused on improving lives through exceptional care. The facilities provide a wide range of services, including wellness checks, advanced surgeries, emergency care, and specialty services, striving to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a healing environment with a strong emphasis on efficiency, quality, and family support
What Your Day Looks Like:
Patient Care:
- Perform initial intake screenings, including obtaining and recording vital signs and patient information.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Maintain and update medication, immunization, and health maintenance records.
- Provide patient education and instructions as directed by providers.
- Schedule, coordinate, and monitor appointments, ensuring timely follow-ups.
- Administer medications, immunizations, and perform approved invasive procedures within the scope of practice.
Operational Support:
- Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Apply principles of aseptic techniques and infection control.
- Perform inventory checks and routine maintenance of clinical supplies and equipment.
- Comply with quality assurance practices, including proper documentation and record-keeping.
- Manage messaging, orders, and communications efficiently, serving as a liaison between patients and providers.
Communication:
- Exhibit professional and respectful communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Respond effectively to verbal, non-verbal, and written communication.
- Employ excellent customer service skills, ensuring a calm and supportive environment.
Legal and Ethical Compliance:
- Perform duties within legal and ethical boundaries of the Medical Assistant role.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and maintain medical records in compliance with State, Federal, and regulatory guidelines.
- Understand and execute responsibilities within the scope of practice while under the supervision of a healthcare provider.
Other Duties as Assigned.
What You Bring:
- Certified Medical Assistant credential vetted by the State through appropriate testing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Proficiency in navigating multiple computer applications and electronic medical records.
- Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize.
- Familiarity with clinic structures and workflows.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in a dynamic and fast-paced clinical setting.
- Perform multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions.
- Engage effectively with diverse age groups and cultural backgrounds.
