Master Clinician PHP Needed for a Behavioral Healthcare Organization in Groton, CT

A behavioral healthcare organization dedicated to delivering exceptional behavioral healthcare services, integrated medical, psychological and traditional self-help approaches to addiction treatment is seeking a Master Clinician PHP who  functions as the clinical expert in planning and conducting treatment for clients in the Partial Hospital and Intensive Outpatient Programs (PHP/IOP).  Treatment will consist of a combination of individual and group counseling, as well as educational group sessions planned to meet the individual needs of each client.

The Clinician is responsible for developing the curriculum for educational programs that will be included in the treatment program for PHP/IOP clients.

What Your Day Looks Like:

  • Conduct evaluations, client/family education, counseling, discharge planning, referrals, case management, and follow-ups for assigned caseloads.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for each client and update them as needed.
  • Perform bio-psycho-social assessments as required.
  • Collaborate with team members for joint treatment planning, utilization review (UR), and client management.
  • Provide individual counseling and facilitate group therapy sessions focused on substance abuse treatment.
  • Develop curriculum and deliver educational components tailored to client needs and community history.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for UR, insurance matters, and other administrative communications.
  • Act as a liaison between the facility and clients, families, aftercare agencies, institutions, and clinicians.
  • Ensure all documentation meets the standards set by state regulations and accrediting agencies within the required timeframes.
  • Understand and address the specific needs of the client population.
  • Establish a continuing education and supervision plan in collaboration with the immediate supervisor.
  • Participate in conferences, meetings, and continuing education programs as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

  • Independent license required: LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LADC, or licensed psychologist.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of mental health counseling experience, preferably with a substance abuse population.
  • Strong understanding of substance abuse treatment methodologies and mental health counseling techniques.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
