Location: Onsite in Lawrenceville, GA
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Schedule: Mon-Thurs, 8am-5pm, Fri 7:30am-4:30pm
A physician-led health care organization making a difference with patients and their families with highly specialized health care for women, babies and children is seeking a Medical Referral Specialist to join the team. This role is essential in managing incoming referrals and ensuring smooth patient care coordination.
What Your Day Looks Like:
- Manage a high volume of incoming referrals, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Answer phones, enter provider information, and coordinate office communication flow.
- Review charts and insurance referrals/authorizations to ensure proper reimbursement.
- Schedule new and follow-up appointments, including patient testing.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Greet, direct, and assist visitors while maintaining a professional and caring attitude.
- Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
- Identify and collect co-pays, deductibles, and other payments, reconciling daily transactions.
- Prepare and review billing sheets, ensuring all required information is recorded.
- Assist physicians and administrators with patient care coordination.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in medical referrals and a healthcare office setting required.
- Strong computer proficiency and familiarity with medical terminology.
- Ability to handle high-volume tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to handle stressful situations professionally.
- Travel to a satellite office may be required (mileage reimbursement provided).
