Certified Medical Assistant Needed for a Pediatric Clinic in Grovetown, GA

Location: Onsite in Grovetown, GA
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Schedule: Full Time, 8am-4:30pm
A healthcare organization committed to compassionate and customized patient care, with a strong focus on pediatric healthcare, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join the team. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced outpatient setting while providing exceptional clinical and administrative support, particularly in caring for pediatric patients and their families.

What Your Day Looks Like:
- Perform assigned patient care duties under the direction of a licensed provider (MD/PA/NP) or RN.
- Obtain and record vital signs, including pediatric growth measurements (height, weight, head circumference).
- Administer medications and injections, including pediatric immunizations, per approved policy.
- Assist with simple diagnostic tests, specimen collection, and pediatric phlebotomy.
- Conduct pediatric EKGs, manual blood pressure readings, and vision/hearing screenings as needed.
- Provide age-appropriate comfort and reassurance to pediatric patients during procedures.
- Clean and maintain medical equipment, order and stock supplies, and ensure exam rooms are organized and properly sanitized.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) efficiently for documentation and patient care coordination.
- Educate parents/guardians on general care instructions, vaccinations, and follow-up appointments.
- Assist in emergency situations, including pediatric-specific urgent care needs, as directed by a licensed provider or RN.
- Other Duties as Assigned
What You Bring:
- High school diploma or GED from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization.
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Certified as a Medical Assistant (AAMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or MedCA).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
- Preferred: Experience in a pediatric setting, including administering childhood vaccinations and assisting with pediatric procedures.
- Preferred: Knowledge of pediatric growth charts, developmental milestones, and child-friendly communication techniques.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy, EKG, and manual blood pressure readings.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients of all age groups.
