Location: Onsite, Floating between 3 Locations: Augusta, GA, Grovetown, GA and Evans, GA
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Schedule: Full Time, 8 HR/Day, ranging between 8am-8pm
A healthcare organization committed to compassionate and customized patient care is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for its Urgent Care clinic. The CMA will provide essential clinical support to licensed providers (MD/PA/NP) and RNs in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role requires a detail-oriented, adaptable, and patient-focused individual who can effectively balance technical medical tasks with compassionate patient interactions.
This role operates in an urgent care setting, requiring flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. The CMA must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where quick decision-making and responsiveness are essential.

What Your Day Looks Like:
- Perform patient care duties as directed by licensed providers or RNs.
- Demonstrate strong communication and empathy skills to support patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare team members.
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
- Administer a limited profile of medications and injections per approved policies.
- Conduct simple diagnostic tests and assist with minor medical procedures.
- Collect specimens, draw blood, and perform phlebotomy.
- Conduct EKGs and measure manual blood pressure.
- Maintain exam rooms by ensuring cleanliness, stocking supplies, and preparing equipment.
- Assist in emergency situations under the direction of licensed medical staff.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to document patient interactions accurately.
- Provide patient education and ensure a positive experience through excellent customer service.
- Other Duties as Assigned
What You Bring:
- High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Certified as a Medical Assistant by AAMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or MedCA.
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, phlebotomy, EKGs, and manual blood pressure measurement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with patients and clinical staff effectively.
- Empathy, adaptability, and ability to remain calm in urgent or emergency situations.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
