A healthcare organization dedicated to serving the community and providing quality care is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Dietitian. This role is integral in promoting patient health and well-being by ensuring optimal nutritional care.
The Dietitian will work closely with healthcare workers to assess and address patients' specific nutritional needs, analyze food content in Nursing Home and Hospital menus, develop specialized diets, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations within the Food Services department. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and administrative dietetics experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality nutritional care to patients.

What Your Day Looks Like:
- Collaborate with healthcare workers to assess and address patients' specific nutritional requirements.
- Evaluate and revise facility patient care policies to include nutritional care.
- Analyze and assess food content in hospital and nursing home menus to ensure nutritional adequacy.
- Develop and implement specialized dietary plans as needed.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards within the Food Services department.
- Offer in-service training to departments regarding Food Services policies and procedures.
- Conduct quality assurance studies to evaluate the effectiveness of nutritional care procedures.
- Review patient food surveys and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Approve menus and menu substitution sheets.
- Communicate with physicians and clinical staff regarding patient nutritional needs, including enteral and parenteral nutrition.
- Conduct nutritional assessments for in-patients as referred by nursing staff.
- Establish treatment plans and provide nutritional counseling to patients.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and take corrective actions as needed.
- Act as a liaison between the Food Services department and medical staff.
- Attend patient risk and swing bed meetings weekly.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all healthcare regulations and ethical business practices.
What You Bring:
- B.S. Degree in Foods and Nutrition.
- Successful completion of a Dietetic Training Program with at least six months of experience under a registered dietitian.
- Eligibility for registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Experience and knowledge in clinical and administrative dietetics.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Additional language proficiency preferred.
- Perform job responsibilities in alignment with the organization’s mission and vision.
- Stay current with educational and training requirements.
- Attend staff meetings and complete the required in-services and competency evaluations.
- Wear protective clothing and equipment as necessary.
- Comply with all policies regarding ethical business practices and regulatory standards.
- Maintain professionalism and positive guest relations with colleagues, patients, and visitors.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Work in a well-lit, air-conditioned environment with moderate noise levels.
- May be exposed to high noise levels, bright lights, or limited hazardous substances.
- May experience high-stress periods and fluctuating workloads.
- May require schedule flexibility, including overtime.
- Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift.
- Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs.; occasional lifting of more than 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Near-normal hearing and vision, including color distinction.
- Good manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks/motions.
