Surgical Technologist Needed for a Vascular Clinic (Savannah, GA)

A vascular clinic dedicated to providing advanced, state-of-the-art treatment is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join a fast-paced and collaborative Office-Based Lab. This role plays a vital part in supporting physicians during a wide range of diagnostic and interventional vascular procedures, including arteriograms, dialysis access, port placements, and vein ablations.

The Surgical Technologist ensures a safe, sterile environment and contributes to efficient, high-quality patient care by preparing instruments, assisting during procedures, and supporting post-procedure workflow.

This position is well-suited for a driven and detail-oriented surgical technologist who excels in a dynamic, patient-centered setting and is eager to contribute to impactful work in the field of vascular care.

What Your Day Brings:

  • Provide first or second assist support during surgical and endovascular procedures by ensuring exposure, hemostasis, and clear visualization of the operative field.
  • Perform skin preparation, draping, wound closure under direct supervision, and application of specialized dressings.
  • Maintain a dry and sterile surgical field, operate suction, apply clamps, cautery, and ligatures as needed.
  • Assist in identifying, handling, and labeling surgical specimens, implants, explants, and medications accurately.
  • Ensure correct sponge, needle, and instrument counts according to policy.
  • Assemble, operate, and clean all instrumentation and equipment before, during, and after procedures.
  • Support procedural set-up using aseptic techniques and follow equipment operation manuals and safety protocols.
  • Disassemble tables and instruments post-procedure, assist with patient transport, restocking, and inventory maintenance.
  • Follow all angiography lab protocols and report any unusual incidents to the appropriate coordinator or RN.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (CST) required within 6 months of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a surgical setting, preferably in a hospital or office-based surgical environment.
  • Angiography and vascular procedure experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical equipment.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity in passing instruments.
  • Attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to function efficiently in high-stress environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and staff.
  • Ability to problem-solve and anticipate surgical team needs.
