As the Immigration Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end preparation and filing of H-1B petitions, including cap filings, extensions, amendments, and compliance requirements. You will partner closely with HR, hiring managers, foreign national employees, and external immigration counsel to gather documentation, coordinate submissions, and ensure accurate and timely USCIS filings. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills to navigate complex immigration processes, set clear expectations with stakeholders, and adapt to the evolving U.S. immigration landscape.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end preparation and filing of H-1B petitions, including new cap filings, extensions, amendments, and transfers.

Coordinate the full H-1B lifecycle, from initial case assessment and documentation collection through final USCIS submission and approval tracking.

Prepare and submit USCIS petitions using both online and paper filing systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to filing deadlines.

Partner with external immigration counsel to review petition strategies, documentation requirements, and case progress.

Serve as the primary internal point of contact for HR, hiring managers, and foreign national employees regarding H-1B processes, timelines, and expectations.

Collect, review, and organize supporting documentation including job descriptions, educational credentials, and employer documentation required for petitions.

Monitor and maintain H-1B compliance requirements, including Labor Condition Application (LCA) processes, public access files, and regulatory obligations.

Track case statuses and maintain accurate immigration records and case management systems.

Stay informed on changes in U.S. immigration laws, policies, and USCIS procedures, adjusting processes accordingly.

Support H-1B cap season preparation, including registration coordination, eligibility review, and petition preparation for selected cases.

Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding case updates, delays, and regulatory requirements, ensuring transparency throughout the process.

Manage sensitive or difficult conversations with managers and employees, setting realistic expectations regarding immigration timelines, risks, and outcomes.

Collaborate with HR and Global Mobility teams to ensure immigration processes align with corporate hiring and workforce planning needs.

Adapt quickly to the rapidly evolving U.S. immigration landscape, proactively identifying process improvements and risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

2+ years of U.S. business immigration experience, preferably in an in-house HR, immigration, or global mobility team.

Hands-on experience preparing and managing H-1B petitions from initiation through filing and approval.

Strong knowledge of USCIS procedures, H-1B regulations, and compliance requirements.

Experience preparing USCIS online and paper-based filings.

Paralegal certification preferred.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex immigration processes clearly.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple concurrent cases.
