Employment Type: Contract (July 2026 – March 31, 2027)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)


Our client is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to improving outcomes for children, families, and communities. With a collaborative and mission-driven culture, the organization is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to provide coverage during a team member's leave of absence. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you'll be responsible for processing invoices and employee expense reports, ensuring accurate coding and timely payment of obligations. This role serves as an important partner to internal stakeholders across the organization, reviewing submissions for accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with established accounting procedures.
The ideal candidate will have direct accounts payable experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. While the volume is manageable, the position is deadline-driven and requires someone who can effectively prioritize work and maintain accuracy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner
  • Review and process employee expense reports submitted through NetSuite
  • Verify coding, account allocations, cost centers, and supporting documentation
  • Ensure invoices are processed according to established payment terms and deadlines
  • Research and resolve discrepancies, missing information, and incomplete submissions
  • Follow up on corporate credit card transactions, missing receipts, and supporting documentation
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to obtain clarification and resolve payment-related questions
  • Maintain vendor records and assist with vendor-related inquiries
  • Support month-end and year-end accounts payable activities as needed
  • Utilize NetSuite and other financial systems to process and track transactions
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all financial records
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of direct Accounts Payable experience
  • Experience processing vendor invoices and employee expense reports
  • Working knowledge of account coding, general ledger structures, cost centers, and financial controls
  • Experience using ERP or financial systems for invoice processing
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with NetSuite
  • Previous experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
  • Experience reviewing and auditing expense reports for policy compliance
  • Familiarity with corporate credit card reconciliation processes
