Pay Rate: $20/HR
Location: On-Site in Kent, WA
Employment Type: Contract
Schedule: Part-Time, Monday – Friday, Hours can be 7 AM – 2 PM or 10 AM – 5 PM
A car and truck rental agency in Kent, WA is seeking a Rental Car Agent to support customer service operations during the busy summer season. The ideal candidate will be a fast learner, customer-focused, and capable of handling a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
The Front Desk Agent will serve as the first point of contact for customers, handling reservations, vehicle checkouts, returns, and general inquiries. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to provide courteous and efficient service both in person and over the phone. Agents will also be responsible for promoting rental add-ons and ensuring that each customer has a smooth and positive rental experience.
This is a contract position with the potential to be extended or converted to a longer-term role based on performance. The ideal candidate will be a fast learner, customer-focused, and capable of handling a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
What Your Day Brings:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner at the front counter.
- Handle check-in and check-out processes for rental vehicles.
- Answer phone calls to assist with reservations, rental inquiries, and problem resolution.
- Use the Wizard software system (DOS-based; training provided) to process rentals and manage transactions.
- Upsell additional products and services, such as insurance and GPS, with each rental; eligible for a 3% commission on qualifying sales after training.
- Conduct outbound cold calls to potential customers once fully trained.
- Maintain accurate customer and rental records in the system.
- Resolve customer concerns quickly and efficiently, escalating issues when necessary.
- Support overall front desk operations and ensure a clean, organized work area.
- Other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- Clean driving record required.
- Must pass a 5-panel drug test.
- Prior experience with Wizard software is a plus but not required (training available).
- Strong customer service, communication, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
- Quick learner who is comfortable using computer systems and memorizing commands.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are required.
- Experience in the rental car or truck industry is a plus.
