Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 8-10 Hour Shifts

Their expert practitioners and caring staff specialize in all aspects of dermatological care, including preventative measures, cosmetic procedures, and surgery, including Mohs Micrographic Surgery. Wow, what a team! 

   

The Medical Assistant plays a key role in supporting dermatologic surgery and general dermatology care within a fast-paced clinical environment. This position assists providers during Mohs and other surgical procedures, ensuring proper sterile technique, accurate documentation, and exceptional patient care throughout the treatment process. The MA also supports cosmetic and medical dermatology services by preparing patients, managing instruments and supplies, and providing thorough pre- and post-procedure education. 

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist dermatology providers with patient care, including obtaining medical histories, recording vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures. 

  • Support minor surgical procedures such as excisions, biopsies, and cryotherapy by maintaining sterile technique and assisting with instruments and specimen handling. 

  • Prepare patients and assist providers with cosmetic dermatology treatments, including Botox, fillers, chemical peels, laser procedures, and microdermabrasion. 

  • Maintain strict adherence to sterilization and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and sanitary clinical environment. 

  • Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care, including wound care, cosmetic aftercare, and follow-up instructions 

  • Perform wound care duties such as dressing changes and suture removal under provider direction, ensuring patient comfort and adherence to best practices. 

  • Accurately document patient information, visit details, treatment notes, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR) system, including coding and financial documentation. 

  • Provide compassionate patient support by addressing questions and ensuring comfort before, during, and after procedures. 

  • Collaborate effectively with dermatologists, physician assistants, nurses, and administrative staff to maintain efficient clinic operations and exceptional patient experiences. 

  • Other duties as assigned  

  

Qualifications

  • Preferred Medical Assistant (MA) Certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) License, or LPN with active FL licensure.  

  • Hands-on experience in a clinical setting is required. 

  • Dermatology, surgical experience, and wound care experience is preferred 

  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions. 

  • Assist all teams in patient care, administrative tasks, or other duties as assigned by management. 

  • Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and co-workers 

  • Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice 

  • Proficient communication skills (written and verbal)
