As the CT Technologist, you will perform high-quality CT, X-Ray, and Bone Density imaging to support accurate clinical diagnosis while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining imaging equipment, documenting results per department protocols, and ensuring proper radiation safety practices, including patient screening and routine equipment checks. The technologist adapts imaging techniques and communication based on patient age and cognitive needs and verifies appropriate contrast media dosing 

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Perform CT, X-Ray, and Bone Density (DEXA) imaging to support accurate medical diagnosis. 

  • Document imaging results in compliance with department policies and procedures. 

  • Cross-train and assist in Mammography and/or MRI as needed. 

  • Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot imaging equipment, including startup and quality checks. 

  • Manage imaging records using film-processing, hard-copy devices, and archiving systems. 

  • Follow all radiation safety protocols, including pregnancy screening for applicable patients. 

  • Conduct semi-annual inspections of radiation protection devices. 

  • Adjust imaging techniques and communication based on patient age and cognitive needs. 

  • Maintain compliance with facility safety standards and guidelines. 

  • Verify FDA-approved contrast media dosing appropriate for patient age and indication. 

  • Other duties as assigned  

  

Qualifications  

  • Minimum two year certification in Radiologic Sciences or related field – Required 

  • Minimum two years of experience in venipuncture, aseptic technique, universal precautions and documentation, contrast administration, and use of power injector 

  • Licensure as Medical X-Ray Operator in State of Tennessee 

  • Current registration with American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)
