Bookkeeper Needed for a Consulting and Professional Services Firm

Pay Rate: $68K – $70K
Location: On-site
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Mon-Fri, Start time can be between 6:00am-8:30am with consistency.
A Seattle-based engineering firm providing consulting services across diverse industries is seeking a detail-oriented and resilient Bookkeeper to join the finance team. Known for its high standards and contractor-style work environment, the firm values accuracy, adaptability, and a strong work ethic.
This role is essential to the financial operations of the firm, focusing on reimbursable expense integration, invoicing, and financial reporting. The Bookkeeper will work directly under the Finance Director and interact regularly with engineers and project teams. This is a fully onsite position with no remote work option.
What Your Day Brings:
- Review and process employee project expense reports with 100% accuracy.
- Enter client payments (checks and EFTs) for accounts receivable reconciliation.
- Coordinate with insurance brokers to request and distribute certificates of insurance.
- Review billing reports and generate client invoices.
- Distribute invoices through various client-specific electronic portals.
- Assist with year-end procedures and annual business insurance renewals.
- Distribute internal financial and project reports as needed.
- Other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- Exceptional attention to detail; accuracy is non-negotiable.
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
- Comfortable working in a direct, fast-paced, construction-style environment.
- Thick-skinned and receptive to blunt feedback.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial data.
- Effective communication across varied personality types.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Able to work overtime as needed.
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office; intermediate Excel skills preferred.
