Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:45am-5:00pm
A leading medical practice specializing in orthopedic, spine, and neurological care is seeking a Bilingual-Spanish Patient Services Specialist to join the team. The Patient Services Specialist serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless and positive experience. This position is responsible for patient check-in and check-out, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance. The Patient Access Specialist reports directly to the Office Manager and plays a critical role in ensuring efficient patient flow and satisfaction.

What Your Day Looks Like:
- Greet patients and provide exceptional customer service.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments with the correct provider, time, and location.
- Answer general patient inquiries, including account balances, directions, and fax numbers.
- Collect co-payments and outstanding balances at the time of registration.
- Verify insurance eligibility and confirm authorizations for procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Scrub and prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments.
- Ensure patient registration and medical history updates are completed as required.
- Assist in resolving patient issues independently while escalating as needed.
- Effectively document account actions, follow up on outstanding matters, and communicate next steps in the system.
- Reconcile daily appointments and provide billing reconciliation to the Billing Supervisor.
- Support the Office Manager in improving patient flow and minimizing complaints.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Experience in front office or customer service role (medical experience preferred but not required).
- Strong phone skills with experience handling multiple lines and taking detailed notes.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Outgoing and confident demeanor; must be comfortable engaging with patients.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR); familiarity with CareCloud, Doxy, and telemedicine platforms is a plus.
- Ability to use Outlook email and work with headsets.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Comfortable working with complex guidelines and adapting to evolving office procedures.
- Reliable transportation required; occasional travel to Wilmington, NC (reimbursed mileage).
