DME Technician needed for one of the nation's largest orthopedics practices with over 60 locations

Pay Rate: $18 – $25 per hour 
Location: Onsite in Frederick, MA 
Employment Type: Direct Hire

As the DME Technician, you will be responsible for selecting and ordering the appropriate medical equipment for clinics and ensuring delivery and proper functionality. You will also be responsible for training use of equipment as needed. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Orders all clinical supplies and equipment in a timely manner under the supervision of the assigned clinical supervisor 

  • Exhibits strong customer service skills in daily interaction with the public, patients, staff and physicians in the performance of job duties 

  • Fits patients with all braces, ambulatory aids and splints 

  • Ensures all surgical patients have the required DME before their date of surgery by contacting pre-surgical patients and arranging for the measurement and dispensing of ordered DME 

  • Trains patients in the application, removal and care of the dispensed DME 

  • Reinforcing patient education regarding body mechanics and limitations 

  • Maintains inventory of DME at assigned location(s) 

  • Monitors, cleans and sterilizes equipment daily 

  • Utilizes computer software programs, as needed, to communicate and understand patient needs 

  • Oher duties/projects as assigned. 

 
Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent 

  • One year experience physician's office or equivalent combination of training and experience required 

  • DME Certification preferred 

  • Experience with applying and removing casts preferred 

  • Experience in the administration of injection techniques, fitting of braces, boots and splints 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships and collaborate in a decentralized organization
