Pay Rate: $25 – $28/HR
Location: Onsite in Tacoma, WA
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Our client helps provide trusted insurance solutions for individuals and families. Our client has over 50 years of experience practicing as a group benefits brokerage in Washington and prides itself on its expert level of knowledge when it comes to the local insurance market. As the Benefits Specialist, you’ll be responsible for helping clients navigate benefits, solve problems, and provide clarity on healthcare questions. This role has a strong emphasis on customer service and you will also manage critical paperwork, coordinate with insurance carriers, and ensure smoothness of everyday operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Respond to employee questions about coverage, billing, and eligibility

Process enrollments, terminations, and benefit changes accurately and on time

Support groups with the necessary paperwork to set up or continue their benefit plans

Collaborate with insurance carriers to troubleshoot and resolve real-world issues impacting employees and their families

Keep internal systems accurate and up to date with different types of records

Help complete compliance forms and documentation needed to support ongoing plan administration

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
1-2 Years in Employee Benefits, Insurance, Healthcare or Human Resources

Life and Health License (or willingness to obtain certification within 60 days)

Professional demeanor and good interpersonal and customer service skills

Proactive working style and ability to think ahead of tasks

Reliable and flexible
-
Excellent attention to detail and work quality

Strong oral and written communication skills
-
Proficiency using MS Office preferred
