Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM PST
 

Our client is a mission-focused non-profit dedicated to helping the community by providing a broad array of telephone-based information and referral services. For many people in emotional distress or needing community services assistance, they are their “first call for help.” Each year, our client improves the lives of thousands of people by listening, caring, and linking to services. 

As?Information and Referral Call Center Specialist you’ll be responsible for being the first point of contact for individuals seeking assistance via phone, email, chat, and text. This position is responsible for assessing callers’ needs, completing client intakes, and providing accurate information and referrals to appropriate community resources and services. The Specialist ensures all interactions are documented thoroughly and accurately, handles primarily inbound calls with professionalism and empathy, and supports the team by performing additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to inquiries received via phone, email, chat, and text.
  • Assess callers’ needs and determine the appropriate level of assistance.
  • Complete client intakes and gather necessary information accurately.
  • Provide information and referrals to community resources and services.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation of all interactions.
  • Handle primarily inbound calls in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Perform additional tasks, duties, and special projects as assigned

 
Qualifications ? 

  • 2+ years of call center background
  • High speed internet connection required and a quiet private remote work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to respond to callers with patience, objectivity and without judgement.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is crucial.
  • Ability to work in a structured setting where punctuality, attendance and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Ability to multi-task using a database while simultaneously providing excellent customer service.
  • Comfortable using technology with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot basic problems.
  • Associate's degree or experience in related field helpful.
