Salary/Pay Rate: $ 40-44 per hour
Location: Remote (EST based team, can work local time zone but must be available/online 10-2p PST)
Employment Type: Contract (possibility for conversion)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM


Our client, a rapidly growing mortgage lender experiencing increased loan volume, is seeking a Temporary QC Auditor to support critical loan-level audit oversight and quality assurance functions. This role plays a key part in maintaining strong loan quality, meeting investor and agency requirements, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate brings deep mortgage knowledge, underwriting experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong performance may lead to conversion to a permanent position.


As the QC Auditor, you will be responsible for:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct loan-level file audits to ensure compliance with agency and investor guidelines.
  • Review, validate, and respond to vendor audit findings, including re-auditing sample files for accuracy.
  • Prepare and compile loan packages for external agency audits (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, VA).
  • Collaborate with underwriters and credit policy teams to support corrective action implementation.
  • Manage and support the post-closing QC function, meeting required daily and monthly audit quotas.
  • Provide occasional support for pre-funding jumbo loan reviews (if experience allows).
  • Maintain accurate reporting, sampling documentation, and audit tracking within QC systems.
  • Handle sensitive loan data with a high level of confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of mortgage experience (will consider slightly less for strong candidates).
  • Underwriting experience required; underwriting designations or certifications strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines.
  • Experience with Encompass (primary LOS used daily).
  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage high-volume workloads in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with underwriting and credit policy teams.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and Adobe Acrobat.

Preferred Experience

  • Jumbo loan review experience.
  • Prior QC auditing or post-closing audit experience.
  • Familiarity with Airtable, Smartsheet, or Excel (training will be provided during transition).
