Work Arrangement: Onsite
Employment Type: contract 1-2 months
Part time -M-F during business hours of 8-5pm

This role is designed for a strategic thinker who is also a hands-on doer—someone who can quickly step in, assess current event operations, and partner closely with the VP of Events & Membership to drive execution and improvement during a period of team transition.

This is not a people-management role, but rather a senior individual contributor and thought partner position. The consultant will support a high-volume events environment and help evaluate whether the Chamber’s current event model continues to meet organizational needs.

  • ~110 events annually, including:

    • Webinars

    • Large-scale in-person events

    • Hybrid programs

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point person for events, including on-site presence and vendor coordination (AV, venues, logistics)

  • Provide strategic partnership to the VP on event structure, workflows, and potential improvements

  • Support planning and execution of complex in-person and hybrid events

  • Coordinate event logistics, timelines, speakers, content, and internal stakeholders

  • Bring outside perspective and best practices to help leadership evaluate whether to maintain or evolve the current events model

  • Step in quickly, assess needs, and drive work forward in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Requirements

  • Director-level or senior events experience

  • Proven success running event departments or large-scale programs

  • Strong experience managing vendors and complex logistics

  • Comfortable in a short-term, high-impact consulting role

  • Energetic, decisive, and able to “get things done” quickly

Work Environment

  • Fully onsite in downtown Seattle (approximately 70% of events are walkable)

  • Potential flexibility for remote Fridays, but candidate must provide their own laptop

  • Immediate start preferred
