Schedule: Monday-Saturday (off on Sunday and one other assigned day), 3 AM – 11 AM
A healthcare organization committed to compassionate and customized patient care, with a strong focus on pediatric healthcare, is seeking a Hospital Linen Services Associate – Sorter to join the team.
As the Hospital Linen Services Associate – Sorter, you will be responsible for sorting and inspecting soiled linens to ensure proper processing and quality control. This role involves handling soiled materials, operating basic production equipment, and moving heavy linen carts in a fast-paced industrial environment. Successful candidates are detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to work collaboratively while meeting established productivity standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sort soiled linens from a conveyor belt and place items into designated bins, slings, or carts according to classification standards.

Inspect linens to identify and separate stained, torn, or damaged items for proper handling and processing.

Remove non-linen items and contaminants from the sorting line to maintain safety and workflow efficiency.

Load, move, and position linen carts and slings, including transferring loads onto hoists or into washers.

Operate basic sorting and production equipment as required, following established procedures.

Safely handle soiled linens, which may contain bodily fluids, in accordance with safety and infection-control guidelines.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sorting area and surrounding workspaces.

Work collaboratively with team members and follow direction from supervisors to meet daily production goals.

Adhere to all safety, quality, and productivity standards in a fast-paced environment.

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of heavy items.

Must wear close toed shoes.

Strong attention to detail to accurately identify linen types and recognize stained, torn, or damaged items.

Ability to work efficiently and maintain productivity in a fast-paced production environment.

Comfort handling soiled linens, including items that may contain bodily fluids, while following safety procedures.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Willingness and ability to work in an industrial laundry setting, including warm and potentially noisy conditions.
