The Project Manager – Sterile Processing Services provides full operational oversight of contract performance, ensuring all services are delivered in compliance with contract requirements, government policies, and industry standards. The Project Manager oversees staffing, training, quality control, and reporting while maintaining 24/7 availability for operational needs. This position is accountable for overall performance, compliance, and continuous improvement of Sterile Processing Services operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide full operational oversight of Sterile Processing Services (SPS) contract performance, ensuring all services are delivered in accordance with contract requirements.

Serve as the primary point of contact with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), maintaining clear, consistent communication regarding performance, issues, and operational updates.

Manage, supervise, schedule, and evaluate SPS technicians to ensure adequate staffing coverage and operational efficiency.

Oversee onboarding, training, and ongoing competency validation of SPS staff to maintain high performance and compliance standards.

Ensure adherence to all contract terms, government policies, regulatory requirements, and SPS industry standards.

Maintain 24/7 availability by phone to address urgent operational issues, staffing needs, or emergency situations.

Conduct routine Quality Control (QC) inspections across all shifts to monitor compliance, performance metrics, and service quality.

Identify performance gaps and implement corrective action plans as needed.

Prepare and submit comprehensive Monthly Status Reports detailing workforce stability, incidents, training activities, injuries, quality metrics, and operational performance.

Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous process improvement within SPS operations.

Qualifications

Minimum three (3) years of supervisory or management experience required.

Prior hands-on experience as a Medical Supply Technician in Sterile Processing Services (SPS).

Demonstrated knowledge of sterile processing standards, workflows, and regulatory requirements.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage Government representatives, staff, and stakeholders.

Must function solely in the Project Manager capacity and may not perform duties as a technician, shift supervisor, or facility commander.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage staffing, compliance, reporting, and operational oversight simultaneously.
