As the Medicare Specialist you will serve as a subject matter expert across Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Part D, and individual health insurance plans. This role provides strategic guidance and hands-on support to clients through plan education, eligibility assessments, enrollment, renewals, and ongoing service. The Specialist will navigate complex regulatory requirements, ensure compliance with federal and state standards, and respond to client inquiries related to coverage, claims, billing, and plan changes. This position also collaborates cross-functionally to align Medicare and individual market solutions with broader benefits strategies while delivering exceptional client service and maintaining accurate documentation. 

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Act as the internal subject matter expert on Medicare programs, products, and compliance requirements. 

  • Advise clients on Medicare Advantage, Medigap, Part D, ancillary coverage, and individual/family health plans (ACA and off-Exchange). 

  • Provide enrollment counseling, eligibility assessments, plan selection guidance, and renewal support. 

  • Address client inquiries related to coverage options, plan changes, billing, claims, premiums, and eligibility. 

  • Develop Medicare product strategies, support carrier selection, and deliver client presentations. 

  • Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and federal regulations, maintaining accurate CRM documentation. 

  • Partner cross-functionally to align Medicare and individual market solutions with broader benefits strategies. 

  • Foster strong client relationships through proactive service, collaboration, and internal knowledge sharing. 

  • Other duties as assigned  

  

Qualifications  

  • 5+ years of experience in Medicare insurance or related roles (3+ years with strong professional references may be considered). 

  • Strong knowledge of Medicare Advantage, Supplement, and Part D plans, as well as individual health insurance markets. 

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex federal and state regulations and compliance standards. 

  • Excellent customer service, communication, and analytical skills. 

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 

  • Current AHIP certification. 

  • Active Washington State Life & Disability Insurance license. 

  • Washington Health Plan Finder (WHPF) certification or ability to obtain. 

  • Experience using CRM systems and benefits administration platforms.
