Our client is a well-established dermatology practice located in South Charleston, West Virginia, dedicated to providing comprehensive skin care services to patients of all ages. As the Dermatology Scrub Tech, you will support dermatologic procedures by preparing sterile environments, assisting providers during surgery, and ensuring all instruments and supplies are properly organized and maintained. You will play a key role in patient care by helping with procedure setup, maintaining strict infection control standards, and contributing to efficient workflow and room turnover. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to anticipate clinical needs, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality support in a fast-paced setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain a sterile operating environment by setting up surgical trays, organizing instruments, and ensuring proper sterilization procedures are followed.

Assist during procedures by passing instruments, anticipating provider needs, and keeping tools arranged for efficient use.

Support patient care by helping with skin preparation, positioning, draping, and applying dressings after procedures.

Follow strict safety protocols by conducting accurate counts of instruments, needles, and supplies before and after procedures.

Adhere to infection prevention standards and maintain compliance with established clinical guidelines.

Manage surgical equipment and supplies based on provider preferences to ensure readiness for each procedure.

Handle and label specimens appropriately in accordance with established procedures.

Assist with cleaning and resetting the procedure room to ensure efficient turnover between cases.

Qualifications
-
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent hands-on training in a clinical setting.

Professional certification as a Surgical Technologist (such as CST) preferred.

Familiarity with dermatologic surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile processing techniques.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Ability to anticipate procedural needs and respond quickly during surgical cases.

Solid understanding of infection control standards and sterile field maintenance.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical staff.
