As the Vascular Sonographer, you will perform diagnostic vascular ultrasound examinations and provide procedural imaging support to assist physicians in the evaluation and treatment of vascular conditions. You will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients, operating specialized ultrasound equipment, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise, clinical judgment, and patient care skills to deliver high-quality diagnostic services in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform vascular ultrasound examinations and provide imaging support during vascular procedures.

Prepare, position, and educate patients to ensure quality imaging and a positive patient experience.

Operate and maintain ultrasound and procedural equipment, including routine quality control and troubleshooting.

Assist physicians during procedures, including venous ablations, while maintaining sterile technique.

Obtain, document, and verify patient information, imaging results, and procedural data accurately.

Evaluate image quality and communicate significant findings or variances to physicians.

Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies; monitor inventory and restock as needed.

Prioritize daily workflow to support efficient patient care and procedural operations.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient care.

Maintain required certifications, competencies, and compliance with regulatory, safety, and organizational standards.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate, or bachelor's degree program in cardiovascular ultrasound, diagnostic medical sonography, or a related health science field.

Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Cardiovascular or Vascular Sonographer.

Current ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or CCI Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) credential required.

Current BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS certification preferred.

Strong knowledge of vascular imaging techniques, ultrasound equipment, and procedural support practices.

Ability to perform equipment troubleshooting, quality control checks, and maintain a safe clinical environment.

Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.

Effective verbal and written communication skills with patients, physicians, and healthcare team members.

Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and maintaining required certifications.

Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 100 pounds and perform the physical demands associated with patient positioning and ultrasound procedures.
