Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 4 PM OR 8 AM – 5 PM

As the Building Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of commercial building systems and facilities. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and facility support while ensuring building operations comply with safety standards and industry best practices. The ideal candidate is a hands-on maintenance professional with strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality service in a collaborative environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, life safety, and general building systems.

Inspect, maintain, and repair building fixtures, equipment, lighting, doors, locks, restrooms, and interior finishes.

Complete work orders, document maintenance activities, and manage parts, supplies, and inventory using a CMMS.

Coordinate installations, furniture moves, equipment repairs, and other facility improvement projects.

Support meeting and event setup, breakdown, and room readiness across the facility.

Monitor building systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and preventive maintenance schedules.

Respond to maintenance requests, emergencies, and on-call situations in a timely and professional manner.

Assist with vendor coordination, contractor oversight, and collaboration with internal facilities teams.

Help monitor maintenance budgets, support capital improvement projects, and identify operational improvements.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following OSHA, company safety policies, and applicable building codes.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Valid driver's license required.
-
1–2 years of commercial building maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems, equipment, and structural components.

Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, lighting, door hardware, locksmith functions, and blueprint interpretation.

Experience using common maintenance tools, equipment, lifts, and motorized vehicles safely.

Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented approach.

Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and troubleshoot routine maintenance issues.

Proven ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Willingness to respond to changing priorities and occasional emergency or on-call situations.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and working in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.

Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed.
