Location: Onsite in Seattle, WA
Employment Type: Contract (approx 3-4 weeks)
Schedule: Part-Time, 20 Hours Per Week

As the Library Project Assistant, you will provide hands-on support for library organization and relocation projects by preparing, packing, moving, and organizing library materials. You will help ensure books and other resources are handled with care and accurately relocated while maintaining an organized and efficient work environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical, detail-oriented work and thrives in a collaborative team setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Pack, unpack, and organize library materials for relocation projects.

Sort and prepare books and other resources for storage or shelving.

Label, box, and transport library materials according to project guidelines.

Place books and materials in designated storage or display locations.

Assist with library collection reorganization and relocation efforts.

Move boxes and materials safely throughout the library as needed.

Maintain organized work areas during packing and relocation activities.

Follow established procedures to ensure materials remain organized and protected.

Support the library team with project-related tasks and daily operational needs.

Adhere to safety guidelines while lifting, moving, and handling materials.

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
Previous experience in a library, inventory, retail, or other hands-on support role preferred.

Ability to lift, carry, and move boxes and materials throughout the workday.

Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.

Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
-
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office or similar software preferred.

Ability to handle library materials with care and maintain organization throughout project tasks.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
