Our client is a Kirkland, Washington-based technology company specializing in smart home camera solutions designed to help people stay connected to and monitor their homes with greater ease. With a focus on innovation, reliability, and user-friendly technology, the organization develops products that support modern home security and everyday peace of mind. 

   

As the HR Generalist, you will support a broad range of HR operations while serving as a trusted resource to employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle. You will oversee key areas including leave administration, employee relations, immigration, HR systems, reporting, compliance, and performance management while helping improve processes and enhance the employee experience. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who combines strong operational expertise, sound judgment, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. 

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations, ensuring processes are accurate, compliant, efficient, and employee-focused. 

  • Administer employee leaves and accommodations, including FMLA, state/local leaves, ADA, and workers’ compensation, in coordination with employees, managers, payroll, and third-party partners. 

  • Maintain employee records, I-9/E-Verify documentation, and HR system data to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. 

  • Support HR audits, reporting, policy administration, employment documentation, and compliance initiatives. 

  • Develop, document, and improve HR procedures, workflows, and standard operating processes. 

  • Coordinate employment-based immigration matters with outside counsel, including visa tracking, renewals, work authorization, and employee communication. 

  • Produce workforce reports and dashboards related to headcount, turnover, hiring, performance, engagement, compensation, and other HR metrics. 

  • Administer and optimize Rippling, including workflows, onboarding/offboarding, approvals, document management, system automation, and troubleshooting. 

  • Partner with managers on employee relations, performance management, coaching, policy interpretation, organizational changes, and employee development. 

  • Support employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, promotions, transfers, leaves, and separations. 

  • Guide managers through disciplinary actions, performance concerns, investigations, and other sensitive employee relations matters while maintaining confidentiality and sound judgment. 

  • Coordinate voluntary and involuntary separations, including termination documentation, reductions in force, severance, final pay coordination, and exit processes. 

  • Support company-wide People programs such as performance reviews, compensation cycles, engagement initiatives, and talent planning. 

  • Collaborate with Payroll, Finance, IT, Legal, and external vendors to improve HR processes, systems, and the overall employee experience. 

  • Other duties as assigned  

  

Qualifications  

  • 5–8 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including HR Generalist, HR Operations, or HR Business Partner responsibilities. 

  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. employment laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices. 

  • Experience advising managers on employee relations, performance management, and day-to-day HR matters. 

  • Hands-on experience supporting employment-based immigration processes and work authorization requirements. 

  • Advanced proficiency with HRIS platforms; Rippling experience strongly preferred. 

  • Strong analytical skills with experience developing HR reports, dashboards, and workforce metrics. 

  • Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential employee matters with discretion and sound judgment. 

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Experience within a technology, startup, or high-growth organization. 

  • Experience supporting geographically distributed or remote teams. 

  • Familiarity with annual performance review and compensation planning cycles. 

  • Experience improving HR workflows through automation, AI, or other technology solutions. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 

  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification preferred.
