As the Accounting Manager, you will oversee daily accounting operations while leading and developing a high-performing team. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing budgeting and forecasting processes, and maintaining strong internal controls to support compliance and operational integrity. In this role, you will analyze financial data to provide insights that guide strategic decision-making, partner with cross-functional leaders, and support audits and system improvements. Your ability to balance technical expertise with leadership and communication skills will be key to driving financial accuracy and organizational success. 

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Lead and develop the accounting team through coaching, delegation, and performance management 

  • Oversee daily accounting operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with policies 

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP 

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities 

  • Provide reporting and insights to support leadership decision-making 

  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, supporting short- and long-term financial planning 

  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and operational goals 

  • Maintain strong internal controls and oversee key balance sheet reconciliations 

  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policies 

  • Coordinate external audits, prepare required documentation, and address audit findings 

  • Support improvements to financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and data accuracy 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to support strategic initiatives 

  • Communicate financial updates and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information 

  • Other duties as assigned  

  

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting and budgeting 

  • Prior public accounting experience preferred 

  • CPA or CMA designation (or progress toward certification) preferred 

  • Experience leading teams, projects, or cross-functional initiatives preferred 

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements 

  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, costing, and financial analysis practices 

  • Familiarity with accounting systems, auditing processes, and data management tools 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across departments 

  • Highly organized with strong time management skills 

  • Proficient with computer systems and standard office/accounting software 

  • Ability to interpret complex data, apply logical reasoning, and perform statistical and financial analysis
