As the Benefits Administrator, you will support the administration and coordination of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, and supplemental plans. You will serve as a resource for employees by providing guidance on benefits eligibility, enrollment, and plan provisions while maintaining accurate records within the HRIS system. This role will also support open enrollment activities, employee communications, vendor coordination, and compliance with applicable benefits regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to effectively communicate with employees and stakeholders in both independent and collaborative work environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, and supplemental benefit plans

Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding benefits eligibility, enrollment, coverage changes, and claims-related questions

Educate employees on benefit options, plan provisions, and company policies to support informed decision-making

Maintain accurate employee benefits records and ensure timely updates within the HRIS system

Process benefit enrollments, terminations, status changes, and qualifying life event updates in accordance with plan guidelines

Coordinate annual open enrollment activities, including employee communications, system updates, and enrollment support

Prepare and distribute benefits-related materials, notices, and communications to employees

Partner with benefits vendors and insurance carriers to resolve enrollment discrepancies and employee issues

Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and company regulations related to employee benefits administration

Assist with benefits reporting, audits, reconciliations, and documentation management

Support leave of absence and COBRA administration processes as needed

Monitor benefits processes and recommend improvements to enhance employee experience and administrative efficiency

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and professional experience considered

Previous Human Resources experience, including employee benefits administration and/or total rewards support REQUIRED

Experience working with HRIS platforms, with preferred experience using Kronos or similar systems

Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to employee benefits, leave administration, and Human Resources practices

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain benefits information and policies

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Experience supporting employees in both union and non-union work environments preferred

Ability to build effective working relationships and communicate professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment

Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and customer service skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with professionalism
