Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Part-time schedule, 20-30 hours/week)
Our client is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to improving outcomes for children, families, and communities. With a mission-driven culture and a commitment to operational excellence, the organization is seeking a detail-oriented records professional to support a critical legal and records management initiative.
As a Paralegal with our client, you'll play a key role in supporting a high-volume records redaction and document management project. This position will assist with responding to litigation requests, subpoenas, discovery matters, and public records-related requests while ensuring confidential information is properly managed and redacted in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with records management, legal support, litigation support, or document control experience who enjoys detailed work and maintaining accuracy in highly sensitive documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review, organize, and process sensitive documents requiring redaction
- Support responses to subpoenas, litigation requests, discovery requests, and related legal matters
- Assist with records retrieval, document preparation, and quality review activities
- Maintain accurate records and tracking of document requests and project status
- Utilize records management systems to locate, organize, and archive documents
- Support overflow document processing and administrative tasks associated with legal and compliance requests
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations
- Collaborate with legal, records management, and administrative teams to meet project deadlines
- Other duties as assigned
- Paralegal certification required
- 2+ years of experience in records management, legal support, litigation support, document control, compliance, or a related field
- Experience handling confidential or sensitive documentation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately review large volumes of records
- Familiarity with document redaction processes and best practices
- Experience working with records management systems, document repositories, or file-tracking platforms (experience with proprietary systems similar to FileTrail is highly preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability
- Previous experience supporting legal departments, public records requests, discovery, subpoenas, or litigation matters
- Experience within nonprofit, government, healthcare, social services, or highly regulated environments
- Local candidates in the Seattle area preferred, though qualified remote candidates may be considered
