The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), exceptional organizational skills, and the confidence to navigate sensitive situations while providing thoughtful, practical solutions. If you enjoy solving complex challenges, building relationships, and making a meaningful difference in the employee experience, this could be a great opportunity for you!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-
Manage a high-volume caseload of workplace accommodation requests across multiple locations throughout the United States, ensuring timely review, follow-up, and resolution.
-
Facilitate the ADA interactive process, partnering with employees, managers, and HR representatives to evaluate accommodation needs and identify appropriate solutions.
-
Review medical documentation, assess functional limitations and work restrictions, and determine when additional information or clarification may be needed.
-
Evaluate potential reasonable accommodations while considering employee needs, essential job functions, and operational requirements.
-
Serve as a primary point of contact for managers and HR partners regarding accommodation requests, medical information requirements, available options, and next steps.
-
Communicate directly with employees as needed, providing clear guidance and updates throughout the accommodation process.
-
Support accommodation requests involving medical leaves, return-to-work arrangements, modified duties, scheduling adjustments, and workplace restrictions.
-
Coordinate and evaluate job coach accommodations and collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to support successful implementation.
-
Partner with business leaders to develop practical accommodation solutions that support employees while maintaining business continuity.
-
Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential case documentation, tracking accommodation requests, communications, decisions, and follow-up activities.
-
Monitor active cases, manage competing deadlines, and proactively follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely progress.
-
Utilize case management and HR systems to document activities, track requests, and maintain organized records.
-
Provide guidance to managers and HR partners on accommodation procedures, appropriate documentation, and consistent application of established policies.
-
Exercise sound judgment and discretion when navigating complex, sensitive, or time-sensitive accommodation matters.
-
Collaborate with internal teams to address accommodation challenges, escalate concerns when appropriate, and support consistent processes across the organization.
-
Ensure accommodation activities align with applicable federal and state employment laws, organizational policies, and established procedures.
-
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
Previous professional experience managing workplace accommodations, ADA interactive processes, or employee relations matters involving disability accommodations.
-
Strong working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), reasonable accommodation requirements, and the interactive process.
-
Demonstrated experience independently managing accommodation cases from initial intake through evaluation, implementation, and resolution.
-
Experience reviewing medical documentation, evaluating functional limitations, and identifying appropriate workplace accommodation options.
-
Familiarity with leave of absence coordination, return-to-work processes, modified duty arrangements, and workplace restrictions.
-
Experience navigating job coach accommodations and related workplace support arrangements.
-
Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining accuracy, organization, and timely follow-through.
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees, HR professionals, managers, and senior leaders.
